The Group's life
Communicating on IFK

Following the 1994 devaluation, in order to pick up again, we conducted a study on the timber industry in Gabon (forestry, processing and marketing).

Full of hopes, in 2001, we felled our first tree.
Afterwards, the rules of the game on which we had built our project grew steadily worse. For five years, we initiated many actions, not to say "fights", geared towards finding a viable outcome for our timber industry and for our country. We were eventually forced to the conclusion that all our efforts had been in vain.

Having lost the whole of the 8.6-billion capital, our Board of Directors resolved not to carry on and rule this area of activity out of our future strategy.
Contacts were made with players in this line of business in order for IFK to keep on living with other partners. This operation was finalized on December 31st 2006.

We wish IFK a long life with its new shareholders.

TRAININGS in the 2nd HALF YEAR of 2006

Trainings in first aid and fire

On completion of these two training sessions totalling 21 hours of theoretical and practical courses, the trainees are equiped :

In first aid  :
• To enforce emergency assistance techniques that are necessary for an injured person or a person suffering from a malaise until professional first-aid staff come.
This first aid hinges on three principles which may be put in practice by simple gestures and without having recourse to sophisticated equipment  :
- Keep the injured or sick person alive
- Avoid the worsening of his/her injuries
- Provide conducive conditions for his or her recovery

In fire control :
• To fight any outbreak of fire rapidly and efficiently in the interest of salvaging staff and finding shelter for the occupiers in a place that is safe from its effects .
For that purpose, a good command of 'fire' risk based on  :
- The good knowledge and accurate analysis of the fire in order to better fight it (origins, modes of propagation, types and means of suppression)
- The implementation of the emergency evacuation procedure as well as the specific instructions for intervention
- The use of extinguishing means on diffrent fire types.

Both practical training courses pursue the same objective :

The main training activities in the second half-year of 2006 totalled 3,364 hours.

 

KOMATSU assembly diploma-awarding ceremony

5 agents from SODIM TP's heavy-machinery after-sales-service department went to Moanda on several occasions to carry out the assembly of 7 KOMATSU machines. On completion of that, they were awarded Assembly certificates by the KOMATSU representatives.

The certificate-giving ceremony took place on October 20th in the presence of the Managing Director, Mr Patrice ZAVROSA, the Head of the after-sales-service and of all their colleagues.
